Genital Care

Female Genital
Piercings
Most female genital piercings are fairly trouble-free and easy to care for. In most cases, a mild soap (we recommend Dr. Bronner’s unscented baby mild) used while showering is sufficient. At the end of your shower and after using your normal body cleansing products, gently lather a small amount of soap around the piercing area and clean the jewelry too. Then rinse thoroughly with water. Warm compresses are sometimes appropriate for certain piercings. These are done simply by running a warm, clean cloth or towel under hot water and ringing it out, then applying to the piercing area with gentle pressure.
Male Genital
Piercings
Since the areas and tissues involved in the MANY different male genital piercings may require different care, please contact our piercer on duty with any questions you may have. If you are pierced here by one of our skilled body modification experts, they will explain in full detail how to care for the specific piercing you receive.

Things To Avoid
Unprotected oral sex or intercourse, intense friction while the piercing is still tender and/or swollen, and submersion in any of the following; hot tubs, bathtubs, lakes, rivers, oceans, or swimming pools.
NOTE: all aftercare suggestions are intended for piercings received at The Exotic Body by a skilled professional using appropriate-sized implant grade jewelry materials.
